MicroPleats are the key to maximized filtration surface in defined spaces. In the quest for more efficient processes, runtimes and lifecycles are optimized through the expansion of filtration surfaces. Increased surface area results in reduced pressures rises while maintained high throughput and reducing wear in industrial processes. With pleating heights between 2.3mm and 3.0mm MicroPleats bring increased filtration area to applications that until now used only flat filtration surfaces because of limited available space (conservative technology only allows pleating height with metal mesh structures of approx. 5mm and above).
fteu® MicroPleats
For various applications the available filtration area can be up to tripled as compared to a flat surface area using our fteu® MicroPleats. Because of their limited height the increased surface area has only little impact of the overal dimension of a filter. MicroPleats are compact and feature a high stability which allows them to be applied for systems using backflushing. We manufacture fteu® MicroPleats with a width of up to 1000mm and use them for the production of our filtration solutions.
MicroPleats are result of our development of a new state-of-the-art for metal mesh pleating technology. Together with a partner in pleating machinery we designed a manufacturing solution, that allow us to push the physical limits of metal mesh. In test cycles we derived and optimized the parameters to achieve the precise forming of mesh or metall fibre felt with high filtration fineness and low wire diameters. fteu® MicroPleats are used in applications such as filter candles for oil filtration or plastic melt filtration.
